I'm done. It was a good run. We all had some laughs. Didn't we? Remember that time I talked about Grocery Day? Ahhhh...good times, good times. I've decided to kill the blog, Facebook, MySpace (though I never really used it) and other social networks. I'll probably still drop in on your blogs (you know who you are) from time to time, but I'm just done. It's time.
Thanks for the readership.
Earl out.
Take this, all of you, and read it. This is my blog. How do you like it?

Great while it lasted. Will miss your wit. Regards to Mother Tesch and Vito.
ReplyDeleteTODAY,I CONSIDER MYSELF THE LUCKIEST MOM IN THE WORLD.......SAYING GOODBYE TO THE INTERNET FOLK IS ONE THING...BUT I GET TO KEEP THAT WIT AND WISE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I LOVE YOU, SON.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to see you go, Paul. And I never got to read the last story!
ReplyDeleteDag ... I am still 'new' and enjoyed reading your entries. You will be missed.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun while it lasted. Good luck on moving on towards newer - and hopefully - better things.
ReplyDeleteAlright I am just going to say it - you suck!
ReplyDeleteI looked forward to your words every day an enjoyed the people giving there comments and it gave me something to laugh about. I think your wussing out on us! What kind of man backs out on what he starts...ok I know a few of those but did not think you were one of them.
Damn this stinks.........
Sorry to see it go Paul. Your blog truly made me laugh and cry but I hope this means it will allow you to focus your talent elsewhere. You're an amazing writer and I will miss this page but good luck. I hope you get what you deserve.
ReplyDeleteDave Malone
The person who wrote "you suck"........you are quite "a piece of work".........why spend every day reading Earl's blog only to turn on him when he needs people's support for his future in writing endeavors.
ReplyDeleteP.S. A spelling class would help you.
This has been great! In the past 4 months or so I have been able to catch up and gain insight into the last 30 years of your life. I think some of my favorites were "slackers don't get old..." , Memories of Frank and Catherine, and of course "the douche bag awards.."
ReplyDeleteThrough your writing and the comments made here. I can tell you have a great wife and kids, your mom loves you like no other, your sister thinks the world of you, your older brother... well... always was and seems to still be a man of very few word... yet I'm sure loves you beyond belief! The picture of you and him from 35+ years ago speaks volumes!
I have learned quite a bit from your blog as well...
1. No matter how fitting or accurate a descriptive is... it's never ok to use the C word when referring to Rosie.
2. The Cleveland Steamer causes an uproar but the Dirty Sanchez not so much...
3. I have tried and now love... Grape Nuts and whole milk!
4. Mother Tesch is one of the coolest hippest 70 year olds I know!!
5. Has my love for Sarah Palin has grown? You betcha!!
I would have to go back and count but I made well over 50 comments in the last 4 months. Truth be told that is the most written communication that I have had with anyone in the last 25 years!
I have tracked your blog from:
Tucson
Phoenix
Las Vegas
Rocky Point, Mexico
Atlanta
New York City
San Francisco
Napa/Sonoma
From a PC and a Mac, a laptop, desktop, a netbook, iphone...
On mountain bike rides, while resting during a run, while hiking, sitting around the pool, sober and not sober...
You have 2 cousins out west that loved to read this blog! It will be missed!
Earl, you are a talented writer and I wish you the best with it.
Ok Ok I hate Country music and the Dixie Chicks about as much as Rosie...
But, It has come to the point... That "Earl has to Die"! Goodbye Earl!

I gotta say that uncle Tony was my secund favored writer. The man knows his stuf. He has got a very good women, also.
ReplyDeleteI did not get the writing/spelling gene, Earl received that. But yes, thank you I am "a piece of work".
ReplyDeleteOh, he know's I wish him luck and support him with all he does.
I just have a big mouth and thought I would tell him how I really felt about him stopping the blog without all the mushy stuff. (you know you all thought it for a minute when you first read it - don't lie to yourselves-everyday we looked with anticipation as to what came next-admit it - it sucks).
I do however get to hear his stories when we all get together and are not to busy with our families and work.
I will miss and was enjoying very much the family that wrote and somehow came connected for a time with opinions, feelings, fun and laughter. (John Doe, TT and Mother Tesch).
Earl this was a nice forum you put togetherandI am proud of you!!!
Sis
I did try the dictionary this time but I see I still messed up.
ReplyDeleteSorry Mother Tesch this was not my calling.
I think however I excelled in other things.
